Caring Ministries

If you are struggling with a physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual need, we encourage you to reach out and connect with one of our Caring Ministries for help and support.
We invite you to explore the various programs we have to offer listed below and to the left that might touch your life with wholeness and healing.

Blood Drives

Teaming up with the Red Cross, blood drives are hosted four times each year, 7 to 11 am, at Trinity's 801 South Madison Street campus, usually in rooms 140-4.

Psalm 30:2

Our next Blood Drive is Saturday, October 20, 2012

7-11AM - Rooms 140-144

For an appointment, please call Ed or Phyllis Bond: (309) 454-3793. Remember your identification!

DivorceCare®

Divorce Hurts. DivorceCare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. It's a place where you can be around people who understand what you are feeling. It's a place where you can hear valuable information about ways to heal from the hurt of divorce.

Hospital Visitation

Your pastors regularly visit both hospitals in Bloomington/Normal as well as others if requested. The church office religiously keeps track of hospitalizations we know of. If you or a loved one is or will be in the hospital and would appreciate a pastoral visit, please contact the church office with the appropriate information. Please understand that in this day of "privacy laws," there is no way we will know about your hospitalization unless you contact us directly or specify you are a member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Bloomington upon your admission. If a hospitalization is scheduled and you would appreciate a pastoral visit, please contact the church office with the hospital, date, type of surgery, your arrival time, and the scheduled time of surgery.

Senior Communion

We meet the first Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am in the front of the Chapel. We sing favorite hymns, share in general confession and absolution, hear a brief message from one of the pastors, receive the Lord's Supper where we are seated. The service lasts about 30 minutes.
While all are welcome, this service is designed especially for those who might not get out very often and appreciate being able to enter and exit at their own pace.
If you would like to provide transportation to Senior Communion, or if you need transportation, please contact the church office.

Ministry to TLC's Homebound

Trinity regularly serves her truly "homebound" members wherever they may live.

Funeral Lunches

Upon request, a wonderful group of volunteers serve a luncheon to family and friends who gather at the church after the funeral of a loved one. If you'd like to help serve a meal or prepare a dish and deliver it to the church, please contact the church office

Grief Support

Happy Faces Lunch Bunch is a gathering of widows for lunch and fellowship. They meet the third Tuesday of each month at 11:30 at Shannon's Five Star, 1305 So. Mercer in Bloomington. All are welcome.
A set of four booklets, Special Care Series, will soon be available to our grieving families, helping them through the journey of grief.
