Family Life Ministries

JC Parent Zone - parenting resources from a Christian perspective

God is unfolding potential plans for Family Life Ministry . . .

Family Life Ministry operates under the philosophy that the HOME has the GREATEST INFLUENCE to pass on the faith, and the church has the GREATEST OPPORTUNITY to support the HOME! Doing ministry under this lens means that EVERYTHING we do as a church we do with intentionality to equip people to LIVE IT with their family EVERY DAY. It is a cradle to grave ministry in which NO ONE is excluded . . . we all have the responsibility as grandparents, parents, aunts/uncles and mentors to have faith conversations, family devotions, create rituals/traditions, and serve together!

You don’t know how? Great, that is how the church wants to come beside you to model, train, and equip you! Please hear me . . . we are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER! It is a lifelong journey that involves the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit!

The Central Illinois District officially has its first Family Friendly Partner Network (FFPN) formed.

In April, Trinity passed the recommendation to be a part of this network. The seven congregations involved are:

  • Trinity, Auburn
  • Trinity, Bloomington
  • St. Paul, Havana
  • St. Paul, Lexington
  • Faith, Lincoln
  • Our Savior, Springfield
  • Trinity, Springfield

Starting January 2012, we, Trinity Lutheran Church and School, are embarking on an intentional path of prayer through the emphasis, “Lord, Teach Us To Pray.”

Family Life Ministry would like to provide you and your family a calendar that serves as a resource for growth on the lifelong JOURNEY of prayer. Along with this calendar we are offering some visual examples of each month's prayer focus. We encourage you to check out the videos and use them as an encouragement!

Our FAMILY LIFE MINISTRY Vision for Trinity Lutheran Church

March 13, 7 pm Rooms 140-144
How can Trinity more effectively minister to families in all different situations? Most importantly, how can Trinity help all families, no matter the situation, be more intentional in passing on the faith to the next generations?

Meet our Family Life Ministry Team!

It is my privilege to introduce an amazing assembly of people called our Family Life Ministry team (shown below), the first of its kind at Trinity. These are the folks who are going to help pave the way in how we think about ministry to the next generation. It is a huge undertaking but all realize it is the power of the Holy Spirit guiding and leading these next steps.

Family Life Ministry in partnership with Children's Ministry presents Right from the Start

As a very first opportunity I would like to introduce a new class offering that we believe will be a blessing for families with newborn-2 year olds and parents. We are able to present this right now because we are blessed with Angela Bargmann who has a passion and gift for leading this type of ministry. What a wonderful way to get connected to other parents in this same life stage while gaining some wisdom on helping build the foundations of faith for your child. We are excited it can coincide with one of our education hours in hopes to build on that good bible study habit for the whole family! Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to this new partnership with all of you!
