PTL Parent Teacher League

The Trinity Lutheran Parent-Teacher League (PTL) was formed to assist parents and teachers in building lifetime Christian disciples. PTL’s mission is to serve and support our school families, and help develop and cultivate relationships between home and school through Fellowship, Service, and Nurture.

You can always contact us on Fast Direct by Selecting PTL President in the teacher/staff list.

Proverbs 22:6

PTL is made up of an Executive leadership team consisting of officer positions for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, a teacher liaison, and the chairpersons from the following committees: Fellowship, Service, Nurture, Fundraising, and Publicity.

The Fellowship Committee plans and organizes several events throughout the year that are focused on building closer relationships between teachers, parents and children. Some of the events include: a Fall Festival/Carnival, a Family Movie Night, a Spring Ice Cream Social, and a Grandparent’s Day, where children are encouraged to bring their grandparents to school.

The Service Committee plans and organizes various activities throughout the year for the benefit of the home, school, church, and/or community. Some of the activities include: a Little Elves Workshop – where students up to 4th grade have the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts for their immediate family members, an aluminum can drive that corresponds with Earth Day, collections for local shelters and food pantries, and offering SchoolKidz school supply kits for purchase for the convenience of school families.

The Nurture Committee provides support for the teachers and school families through various programs. In the past, programs have included topics on safety, personal and spiritual growth, and education. The Nurture Committee also supports and encourages teacher and staff appreciation throughout the year.

The Fundraising Committee coordinates the various PTL fundraising efforts. Fundraising is not the focus of PTL, but is needed to support PTL’s objectives and mission. There is no door to door selling involved in any of the fundraising efforts. The primary sources of income include: a Fall Book Fair at the Fall Festival/Carnival, Box Tops for Education, and Market Day. Box Tops may be mailed to or dropped off at Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School, and all are welcome to order from Market Day by visiting www.MarketDay.com.

The Publicity Committee provides regular updates on PTL current events, activities, and programs through the school newsletter. This committee also encourages all eligible parties to participate in PTL. PTL membership is open to all active, communicant members of Trinity Lutheran Church and all parents or guardians with children enrolled at Trinity Lutheran School.

  • We have started a new school contest the "Labels for Education Chicago Bears vs. the Green Bay Packers". This contest is similar to the Box Top Challenge, only this time we're collecting labels. The contest will run 4 quarters (weeks), and we'll announce new totals after chapel each week, starting Dec. 14, and resuming after Christmas break for 3 more weeks. As before, bragging rights and a little fun with some of our teachers will be in store for the winners. There are many products that support this program, including, Campbells, V 8, Post cereals, Swanson, Prego, Dannon and more. Watch for labels with the symbol above, and remember to include the bar code. For more information, check out the website: www.labelsforeducation.com
